Important changes to COUNTER reports for Oxford Law products

Dear Customer,

We hope that you and your users are enjoying the recently relaunched Oxford Law sites and that the increased online functionality is making it easier for your users to find exactly the content they need.

As a result of the migration, there have been some important changes to your usage statistics for these products. If you are not the person responsible for accessing usage statistics for these products at your institution, please forward this to the appropriate contact.

As a result of the site migration, there will be no COUNTER statistics for July 2013 or August 2013. The first full month of usage statistics will be for September 2013, available to download from early October 2013.

There will also be a change to the products you select or view when running your usage statistics. For the BR2 (Section Request) report, selecting the Max Planck Encyclopedia of Public International Law or Oxford Reports on International Law will only display historical usage through June 2013. For new usage statistics beginning in September for these products, you should select Oxford Public International Law, as both resources are now within the Oxford Public International Law platform.

You will also see changes to the BR4 (Turnaways) and BR6 (Searches and Sessions) reports. These reports will be available for the Oxford Public International Law platform beginning with the September 2013 usage reports. These reports will give usage in aggregate for both Max Planck Encyclopedia of Public International Law and Oxford Reports on International Law. BR4 and BR6 reports for Max Planck Encyclopedia of Public International Law and Oxford Reports on International Law as individual products will be discontinued, with the latest available date through June 2013.

Due to fundamental changes to the site structure as part of the migration, there is unlikely to be consistency regarding patterns and trends in usage. Therefore, a direct comparison of usage data from before and after the site migration are not recommended.

If you have any questions or concerns about your usage statistics, please contact us.

Best wishes,

The Oxford Law Online Team
